Abraham dropped Demers with a right hook with seconds left in the round after landing a flurry of hard shots.
Abraham fought with two titanium plates and 22 screws in his jaw after it was broken twice against Colombia’s Edison Miranda eight months ago.
Abraham, 27, improves to 23 wins, no defeats and 18 knockouts.
Judge Alejandro Lopez of Mexico scored the 12-round fight 116-112 for Cunningham, while Somsak Sirianantof of Thailand had it at 115-112 for the American. Bob Gibson of New Zealand scored it 114-114.
Cunningham improves to 20 wins and one defeat while Wlodarczyk dropped to 37-2 with the loss in his first title defence.
